For our third class period, our final design proposal was due, but due to some technical errors in submitting, we could not submit it before the start of class. An email was sent to Mr. Terranova at 12:42 PM explaining the problem. Because of this, the proposal was submitted approximately eight minutes late. In addition, todays main focus again is research as it will be for the next four weeks. We will also be looking into people around the area of Philadelphia that we can interview and talk to about our project. This includes experts in environmental science, environmental engineering, waste management, and transportation. I have gone ahead and emailed Drexel's Professor Charles Haas asking if a meeting could be arranged to learn his thoughts and ideas on the project and topic in general.

For our ENGR 103 project, we will be looking into the Swedish Trash Incineration programs. The country generates large amounts of electricity from this process and even imports trash to keep up with demands. We will research the environmental effects of this process as well as the environmental aspects of transporting trash into the country. If our research shows that the incineration of trash is more environmentally friendly than the use of landfills, we will look into its use in Philadelphia.
